Urgent:L1B Extension and H1B RFE can be applied at same time?

Hi,

My L1B visa is going to over on 23rd Nov 2012.

I have applied my H1B visa(COS) on 7th June 2012.

Currently my H1B visa is in RFE pending status whose reponse is due till 22nd Dec 2012.

My H1B employer is delaying in sending my H1B RFE response.

So My Question here are:

1)If My H1B visa decision dont come before my L1B visa expiry date, I may go out of status.

So Can I apply my L1B extension now so that I can stay in USA till my H1B decision comes out?

2)If yes to above question and I apply my L1B extension at the same time of my H1B RFE response.

a)And if my H1B visa get apporved first and my L1 emplyer doesnt take my L1B extension back and later after few months my L1B extension get rejected.

So will it affect my H1 status?

b)If by any chance my H1 Visa get rejected then will that affect my L1B visa extension process?
