Nepali having indian passport

Recommended Posts

I am nepali but having indian passport. My place of birth in passport is india. I have 10 years of IT experience in Indian IT firm and have visited USA many times on B1 & L1 visas on indian passport.

Now, my concern is about the greencard. I heard if I apply GC using nepali passport, I can get gc in no time but if I apply using indian passport I have to face a very long queue.

Is it legal to surrender the indian passport and apply for nepali passport and then apply for GC?

What will happen to my 10 years of IT experience that I am holding currently?

Please advice,

Thank you.

As was replied to your post elsewhere on this forum, your place of birth determines your country of chargeability category for employment (or family) based immigration. Your (current) citizenship and passport(s) do not matter. Of course, you will need proper, official government documentation of your birth record / certificate.
