Grace period between jobs

Hi all,

I need some info regarding allowed grace period of unemployment in between jobs.

I am currently on H1b for company A. Let's say on November 1, I get approval notice from USCIS stating that my transfer is completed for company B. I then give 2 weeks notice to company A and then join company B on December 1st.

So my questions:

1. What would be my legal status in US for last 15days of November?

2. How many days are considered 'safe' for staying in US after leaving company A and before joining company B?

3. Will this gap in employment cause any issue in future - like stamping of H1b/ GC processing/ or future H1b transfers?

There should not be any gap. You can join company B and take 2 weeks off.
