Appointment for H-4 before 797 is approved

Hi, I wanted to book an appointment for my wife's H4 in November 3rd week sometimes.

> The thing is my H1 with my new employer is still pending approval.

> It was filed under normal and just last week it was moved to premium processing.

> Hoping to get the approval by Nov 2nd week.

> So was wondering if I can book the interview date based on this H-1B petition number which is still pending?

Generally, the visa cannot be approved unless evidence is provided that the primary H1B holder is maintaining valid status in the U.S. The safest option is to wait until the petition is approved before appearing for the visa interview; otherwise there could be a delay in visa issuance.

Actually my question was whether should I book an appointment date before 797 is approved. I definitely will postpone that appointment

if the 797 approval gets delayed, but i was just wondering if booking an appointment before 797 approval causes any issue?
