USCIS received my package on Oct 25th 2012.

H1 transfer --> Vermont Center --> Regular process

How many days it will take to get receipt number ?

You should get the receipt number in two to three business days.

to get the approval in regular processing I am not sure. I have applied for transfer in Jun and its still in initial review :)

Thanks dude, As of now I'm waiting for Receipt no.

It is taking more than 4 months in regular processing.

All the best, my guess is that u will hear something next couple of days

i also applied in July and still waiting. the timeline in USCIS site states 4.9 months for VSC, i am not sure if i should wait for 2 more months or apply for PP; can some one suggest if it is advisable to wait or to apply in PP

It depends on your situation. I have noticed some decisons for the applications in early June.

If your company is willing to pay for PP they go for it. If you have to pay and if the decision is not urgent then wait for another month.

Can you give me some info: how many business day it took for you to get receipt No after your package reached to USCIS ?
