r_max9
I wanted to see if you guys had an idea if a person on H1B can get a private student loan without a co-signer? I have admission in a few schools to start my part-time MBA this spring but I just could not find anything online where I could get a student loan without a co-signer. I'd like to think that this is not a dead end and there are other options!! Hope to hear some options from you guys here! Link to comment
JoeF
From all the applications I have seen, they always want a co-signer if the student is not a US citizen or PR. There are some merit-based scholarships out there that aren't based on citizenship or LPR status, but these are for academic PhD programs, not for professional degrees (like MBA, MD, etc.) Link to comment
t75
Get a loan from your home country. Work and save for tuition payments. It is only part-time, pay as you go. Find a cheaper program; state schools normally charge H-1B residents of the state the lower tuition. Link to comment
r_max9
Thanks for the reply guys. Looks like I will be paying out of pocket. I was thinking of buying a house some time down the line and paying it off my pocket right now would not let me add to my savings. At least I know where I stand.. let me know if you guys ever come across something else. Link to comment
