H1 approved on Oct 3, grace period to join H1 employer

Hello All,

I was working for company A in L1B visa with I94 validity until 2014.

Company B processed my H1B with COS and start date Oct 1st.

My h1b was filed in regular processing and USCIS approved on Oct 3rd.

So now, company A needs 2 week of notice period.

Will I be Out of Status, If I work for L1 employer after Oct 3.

I checked with company B and they have not yet received the application notice from USCIS.

So they want me to wait for few more days before I could inform my new company.

Will all this affect my future h1b stamping, GC?

Once you have the actual approval notice, and the approval notice has a new I-94 at the bottom, you are in H1 status from the date on that I-94 on and you have to stop working for the L1 employer.

Even if the L1 company wants a 2-week notice, you can not continue to work there. The law is higher than an agreement you may have with them. You will have to tell them that the law doesn't allow you to work there anymore.
