MCA degree from IGNOU is eligible to start Green Card process in EB2?

Hi All,

I would like to check whether MCA Degree from IGNOU (Distance Education University) will be eligible to start Green Card process in EB2 status?

I came to USA in H1B visa on Aug 2003 and received I-140 approved in EB3 status with a priority date of Dec 2004 through my previous employer.

Now I have joined my new employer (3 months back) and willing to apply my Green card in EB2..

But I heard from my employer stating "IGNOU's MCA degree will not be equivalent of US Master Degree"

If I were able to apply my NEW Green card process in EB2 then I will be able to port my old priority date.

Please see my educational details listed below and advise whether I am eligible to apply in EB2

1. BSc Computer Science (3 years)

2. PGDCA through IGNOU (1 year)

3. MCA through IGNOU (3 years)

I would like to know whether any of you applied your green card in EB2 process with an IGNOU degree. Please respond.

Hello, I am also same boat, Completed BCOM + 1 yr PGDCA + 3yr MCA and 9 yrs experience ( 8 yr in india + 1 yr in USA). So can you please let me know can apply GC under EB2?

And also what about your current status?

I am in similar boat. 3 years BSc. Maths + IGNOU MCA. Can I apply for GC under EB2 treating IGNOU MCA equivalent to US Master Degree or a 4year US Bachelor's Degree.
