L1 Visa Stamping suggestions

Hi,

I am seeking an answer to below question to know if I should go for

visa stamping during my trip to India on Nov 25, 2012.

The expiration date in L1A/L2 visa for both me and my wife show as

25Mar2013 and PED show as 05Jan2014. I was told that I can travel

internationally till 25Mar2013 later which I have to wait till the end

of next year (05Jan2014) for L1 extension. Currently the extension is

not applied in my company. And I work in software development related

to science domain. My wife has to join the college in January 2013

once we are back from India. We already booked the return tickets to

US on Jan 2, 2013. So here are my questions -

1) If I don't go for visa stamping during my trip to India, are we

permitted to travel to India atleast after 25Mar2013? Are there any

restrictions?

2) If I go for visa stamping. will the process be kept on hold for

sometime for verification? Initially when L1A was approved, we had to

go-through this process and wait for 3 weeks to get the passport

stamped. Will this happen again during this time?

Please give your suggestions I should take in this process.
