KSRC
Hi All, I have my H1B visa extended and stamped till the end of 2014. However, I-94 is issued till Nov 2013, as my current passport is expiring in Nov 2013. I'm applying for the reissue of my Indian passport in Houston and I hope to get the new passport in couple of months. Once I get my new passport, should I require to travel out of USA and re-enter, so that, there is a fair chance that a new I-94 is issued with new expiration date. or, can I get a new I-94, by submitting the new passport to any port of entries in USA, without actually travelling out of the country. Thanks Link to comment
hts123
It is best to travel out, but you can call your port of entry if it is nearby and see. I entered from Boston and they told me there is no provision to amend I-94s there. I drove from MA to Canadian border and they gave me new I-94 with validity till expiry of my I797. Remember the new I-94 date will be till end of your petition I797, NOT till end of visa. Link to comment
rohang
hi, I have read exact similar case, and that guy went to POE and got it fixed. Travel out and coming back is another option, but dont use it without trying first one. Link to comment
luck2u
@KSRC: If you approach local CBP office after you receive new passport, your I-94 will be extended instead of going out of country and reentering back to USA. Link to comment
