Please take a look at following: L1-B Filed: June, 2010 Approved: September, 2010 I-94 Validity: 09/2010 - 06/2013 H1-B Filed: October, 2011 Approved: May, 2012 I-94 Validity: 05/2012 - 09/2014 L1-B Extension Filed: December, 2011 Approved: January, 2012 I-94 Validity: 01/2012 - 12/2013 I'm still working on L1B (recently found out H1B was filed with change of status). I've learned that L1B is no longer valid and I should either switch job to H1B or leave US and enter on L1 again. My questions are: 1. Let say consultant company Y filed for my H1B, Can I join company Z full time without working for company Y? 2. Will this gap in status cause problems with GC process and/or H1B extension/transfer? 3. Will I face problems if I choose to leave US and enter on L1? Thanks, Link to comment

Thanks, Since 05/2012 you are out of status..But why did you file for L1 ext..when you had more tham 6 mnths left on I-94. Link to comment

smsyed Posted October 2, 2012 Author Report Share Posted October 2, 2012 Company was acquired and new owners filed extensions for everyone. Since 05/2012 you are out of status..But why did you file for L1 ext..when you had more tham 6 mnths left on I-94. Link to comment
