H1-H4-H1 Conversion

Hi All,

I am in H1 and have valid H1-B until July 2014. My husband has H1-B valid till July 2013. Currently he is going to change his employer and waiting for H1 transfer approval. Meanwhile I am planning to convert my H1B to H4.

1. If I convert to H4, will it be valid till July 2013 or 2014.

2. How long does it take for the process to complete.

3. Can I convert back to H1 again once I get a new job. In that case will I be getting all my unused H1B days back. i.e, number of days of my stay under H4 visa will not be accounted for the H1B 6yrs max out.

3. What if I quit my job prior to applying for H4. Will I be Out of status.

4. I have my I140 approved with my current employer. Will that be revoked.
