H4 foreign income

Hello everyone - I am currently on H1B visa (I 140 approved) and my wife is here on H4 visa. Her employer in India is allowing her to work from home in the US while on H4 visa. Her Indian salary will be credited to the Indian bank account. Is it legal to earn foreign income while on H4 visa?

On H4, a person can not work. Not for a US company and not for a foreign company.

People on H1 or H4 are generally US tax residents (possibly except for the first year.)

And as US tax residents, people on H1 and H4 have to declare their worldwide income on their US tax returns.
