L1 extension visa stamping

Hi

My existing L1 visa expired and I got the L1 extension last October which is valid till October 2013. I am travelling to India and planning to get my L1 visa stamped before returning. I had a couple of questions in this regard

1) Are there more cases of delays in visa approvals?

2) While I am carrying quite a few documents - I797, paystubs,certificates,employment letters etc. - is there a list of documents I should have to help me getting my visa stamped?
