I have approved H1B with I-94 from Oct 01, 2012. I have put my papers with my company A. Due to some client commitments I was asked to work for an extra week i.e. till Oct 05, 2012 with my current company A? Do we legally have any problem if I continue to work with Company A for a week after 10/1/2012 and join Company B from 10/6/2012 ?? Technically my change of status H1B term starts from 10/1/2012. Does A WEEK delay would create any problem down the line for my GC processing ?? Please advise. Thanks!! Link to comment
JoeF Posted September 24, 2012 Report Share Posted September 24, 2012 You can not work for company A after Sept. 30. Period. From Oct. 1 on, you are in H1 status. Any work for a company other than the H1 employer is illegal. Company A will have to find somebody else to do the work for the client. Link to comment
