H4 visa and modeling assignment

Hi Attorney,

Can you please tell if someone on H4 visa can accept a modeling assignment or not? If not, what are the options for a H4 to do that?

A person on H4 can not work at all.

Unless the modeling assignment was 100% volunteer for a charitable organization, it is not allowed on an H-4 visa. A modeling assignment for pay is like any other job, or receiving any money for work, services, or products -- it s not allowed on an H-4 visa. Unfortunately, immigration law stipulates that H-4 visa holders are not eligible for employment authorization. It is not right nor fair, but it is the law.
