Lay off coming

Hi,

I was with company A until Aug 2011. have approved LC and I-140 from them.

Joined new company B last aug.My last day with company B is Sept 28. they have agreed to notify USCIS after 60 days. Current H1b is valid until Aug 2014.

Questions:

1. do I need to change status for two months.

2. Will a new employer company C get approval notice if I find a job in the next two months. I will ask for premium processing to be safe.
