blueie Posted September 20, 2012 Report Share Posted September 20, 2012 I am in notice period with my current employee (in L1), which will ends on 2nd Oct. But my H1 with new employeer will start from 1st-Oct. Is it OK, to work 2 days in L1 even after status got changed to H1 ? Link to comment
JoeF Posted September 21, 2012 Report Share Posted September 21, 2012 No, you can not work once the H1 kicks in. Notice period or not, the law does not allow you to work for the L1 employer when your status has changed to H1. The law trumps any other agreements. You have to tell the L1 employer that you are not able to work for them after 9/30, due to the US laws. Link to comment

metroguy Posted September 26, 2012 Report Share Posted September 26, 2012 Couple of days doesn't make a difference.. I have seen people working on L1 for many months even when their H1b is approved as they dont have project on H1. But do change to H1B at ASAP Link to comment

Do not work illegally. it is not hard to understand. Working illegally will result in lots and lots of problems down the road. Link to comment

A status violation is never allowed. You absolutely have to stop working for the L1 employer when the H1 starts. No exceptions! Link to comment
