EB2 eligibility

Hello All,

I hold a Master's degree from US university with one and half years of US work experience. I am aware that I will fall into EB2 only if my job requires a MS degree. But my questions are

- Is experience mandatory to fall under EB2? Or if the job just requires a MS degree and no experience, will I fall under EB2?

- If my current employer files for my GC, will my work experience with my current company be counted while applying for GC?

USCIS defines EB2 category as: "The job you apply for must require an advanced degree and you must possess such a degree or its equivalent (a baccalaureate degree plus 5 years progressive work experience in the field)."

So you are eligible for a job which qualifies for EB2 category since you have an Advanced Degree. But you do not fall in EB2 category, it is the Job which either qualifies for EB2 category or not.

Work experience with the current employer doesn't count, unless the GC job is at least 50% different from the current job.
