H1B Transfer to a small company.

Hi All,

I got a great opportunity to be a part of my friends business. Three of my previous colleagues started a company last year October and they wanted me to join their company this October. They are trying to file for my H1B VISA currently without appointing any immigration lawyer. I will be the 1st foreign employer in their company. Now i am trying to transfer my H1B from current employer to new company.

I have couple of questions that i am concerned with in transferring my VISA:

1) Can my new employer do the application process by himself without appointing any immigration lawyer?

2) Are there any number of employee requirements for transferring H1B VISA?

3) Will USCIS accept if my new employer shows the tax documents for just last 1 year?

Any suggestions or views on this topic are greatly appreciated.

They should get a lawyer if they don't know these things.
