Am I eligible for EB2 GC processing?

Hi,

I have a 4 year Bachelor degree from India and 5 years work experience with 2 employers (the 2nd one is filing my GC now). However, I had a 2 year break in between the 2 jobs with the 2 employers. My employer says I wouldn't be eligible for EB2 as I need to have 5 years of experience with the previous employer alone and the time I worked with the current employer won't be taken into consideration.

Could someone please confirm if that's true?

The job requirements determine the category. You could have a PhD, if the job only requires a bachelor degree, the case would still be in EB3.
