H1B approved and got it stamped...how long should i wait for h1b transfer

Hi All,

I was working for company ABC on L2 EAD. They now sponsored me H1B and I got it approved and also stamped last week. I am travelling to US to start employment on H1B for Company ABC.Now I am interested in joining another company XYZ. I hear that I should wait to get at least three payslips from company ABC to transfer the H1B, Is that true? I already have payslips from company ABC till June 2012 but that was on L2 EAD. Can I apply for H1B transfer with those payslips?

Please help.
