H4 visa stamping with Visa waiver program

Hi All

My wife is planning to go to India and she is on H4 visa and we are in 7th year of visa based on

I -140 approved.

She already has h4 visa stamped in her passport but expired in last 12 months.

Now we have new petition 797 Approved till 4-26-2013

Is it safe to go to visa stamping in this case? I have heard lots of stories about 221-g blue slips..

Has anyone experienced any problem in H4 visa stamping for extensions?

She also qualifies for visa waiver program under h4 renewal. Can anyone please share their experiences for visa waiver program/h4 case?
