Two jobs under H1 and OPT ?

I am STEM graduate. My H1 was filed and approved when I was in my 12 month OPT. Can I apply for my unused OPT extension through a different employer while still under H1? I heard that it is legal to have two H1s under two employers and hence curious to know if I can apply for a second job through OPT extension with a different employer instead of a second H1.

When your H1 starts, your F1 and with it OPT is gone.

You can only have one status while in the US.
