PinkPink
I am currently in US on H1B with company A. I am planning to do COS from H1B to L1B.My employer has agreed to do it so that my spouse can work. My question here is , in future if I get an offer from company B,would I be still able to join them with my old H1B.(maybe another COS from L1B to H1B)If so,could you please advise how that happens. Senior members,attorneys...request you to help me out. Thanks :-) Link to comment
JoeF
For an L1, you have to have worked for the employer abroad for at least one year in the last three years. Depending on how long you have been on H1, that may not apply. Link to comment
JoeF
Bad choice of words. I meant to say, depending on how long you have been on H1, a change to L1 may not be possible. Link to comment

JoeF
An H1 is always company-specific. If you change employers, the new employer would have to file a new H1. And as has been stated losts of times, if you have been counted for the H1 quota in the last 6 years, you are not counted again. Also, the time on H1 and L1 is combined when calculating the max. time allowed in the US. Link to comment
