US_H1_123
Hi all, I have got my H1 in Oct, 2008 and in 2011 I was out of country for more than 1 year. Now I have a H1 with new employer. Can any body tell how long is my H1 valid till? is it for 6 more years? If the new employer has filed under new quota then its valid for 6 years, else its only for the 6 years minus time spend in US. kishore122
H1B time = 6 years of your stay in US. I797 dates or visa stamp dates are immaterial. If you haven't worked in the US for the first year from your stamped date, you could request lost time of that one year during your last extension. Link to comment
