H1 - out of status issues

Hello All,

Need help on a H1 query. I have come in to US with B1 in the first week of October. My I94 was stamped for 6 months ending first week of April. At the end November one of the employer sponsored me H1 and it got approved on 15 Dec. Knowing that I finished my vacation (x-mas & New year) and joined the company on 2^nd Jan. I was paid from Jan 02nd till date.

Now my brother has raised a doubt that technically I would be out of status from 15-Dec to 02-jan. Nothing happened till date but he says it might be a problem later date.

Back in Dec my employer asked me to join on 02 Jan as I need to apply SSN before I start to work, so I applied for SSN after I got the approval letter by post and I received the SSN on 23 Jan and used for payroll end of Jan.

Please shed some expert view on the above issue.
