L1 Petition stamping outside India

Hi ,

I am currently at San Jose on my L1-B and my visa has got expired in April 2012 but have I94 valid till 2014 and i am continuing to stay here on my I94.

My company wants to file my L1 once again.

Is it necessary that i need to go back to India for stamping?

Can i go either to Canada or some other county for my stamping and how likely is it that i get through ?

I have been at san Jose for the past 2 yrs in my current L1 visa which expired recently.

A visa is generally only used to request entry into the U.S. If a foreign national is in the U.S. in valid status, he/she would only need to renew the visa if he/she left the U.S. and then wished to reenter.
