lgvisa Posted July 27, 2012 Report Share Posted July 27, 2012 I am trying to renew my H1B as it is valid only until this november. Unfortunately, my passport is expiring next month. So, I have applied for renewal of my passport just today. Can I send all the documents now, except my passport, to the USCIS and once i get my new passport, can I send it to the USCIS? Will it work? However, the Form I-129 asks questions relating to the passport number, place of issue, validity period, and spelling of one's name as it appears on the passport. Thus, it is safest to wait until the passport is renewed before filing the H1B extension petition, if time permits.
