New H1B Masters Quota Approved for 1 Year

Hi All,

I had applied for H1B in Apr 2012 and I have got an approval for only 1 year.

I work on a EVC model, I have provided all the documents including Client Letter and Vendor letter.

Please suggest if I can file a petition to re-consider or should I just wait and file extension again next year?

Also what scenario might have caused this?

There are hundred's of cases like that. I would say file for extension next year.

They nowadays often approve an h1 for the duration of the project.

Get away from EVC, and you'd get a longer H1 validity.

Thats the trade off for an early GC and also get to keep switching jobs incase you are not happy with it.

Also in my case I am waiting for my Priority date to be current, so dont want to start all over again.

so only option i have is to apply for extension next year?
