Hello,

My current H1b visa and I797 are set to expire on October 1. Petition for H1B renewal is approved today.

I was wondering if it makes sense to attend for visa stamping renewal in Canada/Mexico before the existing visa expires. The idea being I can at least step back into US to sort out the issue.

Does anyone have experience int his space? If the visa renewal is denied, do they also cancel existing visa?
