H1B- Start Date before OPT expiry

Hi,

I have a question on my H1B start Date, my OPT is going to expire in feb 2013 and my employer filed my H1b for the FY2013(in June) and he requested my H1 start date in Feb 2013.

Now, will USCIS approve the requested start date on my petition, though my OPT is valid till feb-2013? or will they approve the start date in OCT?

While it is heard that any H1b start date should not be requested from than 6 months from that date filed.

Please clarify.
