Regarding LCA

Hi, I came to US on H1B visa recently with my employer (IT services firm) as the petitioner (did not come to US for a specific customer). After coming here, I have been working for one of our client for the last one month. I came to know that my employer must procure an LCA before I start working for the client. My employer will procure LCA next week. Since there is already a delay of one month in procuring LCA, I am nervous as to what could be the implications for me? Could they be as extreme as sending me back to India or just penalize the employer? Please help. Thanks.

Your employer had to file an LCA for your H1 already. And if you change clients, the LCA and H1 has to be amended.

The employer is also required to give you a copy of the LCA.

And the employer of course has to pay you at all times, even if you don't have a project.
