H1B stamping in India Chennai or Kolakatta consulate?

Hello everyone,

I came to US in 2006 on F1 visa and later moved on to H1 around 2007. I am planning to go India for stamping(around August 2012). During my stay in US, I switched employer and am working for a project in EC model.

Which consulate is better for my scenario? Chennai or Kolkatta. Someone at work suggested to go to Kolkatta for their less processing time in case of 221g. I am not sure if it is true or not. So I am posting this thread to get suggestions from the experienced user base at Murthy forums.

Thanks in advance

Did you go out of country after F1 to H1? If you are looking for trend then Chennai seems to have a better approval in general. But as rahul pointed, you should not go by that. Focus on your preparation. In general, it is recommended to go to Home country for change of status or First time H1B visa stamping. May be I am wrong. Can some senior member or Attorney respond?
