Working on H1B before October

This is how my story goes....I am working with Company A on L1B visa. I have been made an offer by Company B, which would sponsor my H1B visa. However, due to the H1B visas application been cut off this year, Company B has been professional and considerate to extend my offer to next year. Company B has said they will extend my offer to next year and also sponsor my H1B next year i.e 2013. That means they would apply for my H1B visa in April 1st 2013, and after approvals, I would need to start working.

My question here is, Can I start working before October 1, 2013 and is there any rule or policy under which I can do so ? As per my understanding, I would be able to work only on the 1st of October, but I wanted to confirm this with Murthy forum....Or is there a rule that I can pre-pone my job starting date ?

The earliest the H1 can start is Oct. 1, 2013. You can not work on the H1 before that. Period.
