Previous H1B Validity

Hi,

I was previously on H1b from aug 2007 to nov 2009. Now I am currently on H4 from June 2010 til date. If my H4 to H1 conversion is filed then will I get the remaining 4 years of H1b or just 1 year(computing 6 years from 2007 which will end in Aug 2013)?

Generally, only time spent in H1B status counts against one's six years of H1B time. Time spent abroad or in another nonimmigrant status in the U.S. (i.e. F1, H4, L2, etc., but not L1) does not count towards the six years.
