kmuthu608
Hello everyone: I'm an Indian citizen, and I've been living in the US for the past 5 years (Initially in F1 visa and then in H1), but never had the opportunity to visit India after changing my status from F1 to H1. I now plan on visiting India and attend my first time H1 visa interview (H1 Renewal petition). Hence, I only have an expired F1 visa on my passport. I do not have a H1 stamp yet. Do I have to choose a specific consulate based on the consular district, or can I pick any consulate in India ? My state of residence for the past 5 years has been in the US. Thanks.. Link to comment
wiweq
=> Call to VFS, India. They suggest getting the first h1b stamping from home country (IYC, India). They would tell you the appropriate embassy, usually closest to your home address. Link to comment
