Typo in I797 ...new H1B this year valid from oct 2012

Hi I got my H1B approved this year ..In the 1-797 there is typo in the Petitioner Name .

Will that be an issue moving forward with h1b transfer and stamping .

Can someone please advise on what needs to be done .

When did you apply for H1b(i mean the date) ...?

Hello Newbie,

your I-797 should definately reflect the correct petiotener name, if you have submitted it wrong in your I-129H form then you need to submit a amendment to correct it. if you have submitted it correctly then tell your employer/attorney to call the Premium processing Services and get it fixed ASAP.

In any case it would be good if you first better to call them

You employer filed H1b for you, they paid for it. They will fix this typo. Ask them to call to USCIS.
