polka.nj
I am currently on H-1B (cap-exempt) visa status working as a postdoctoral associate in an university. I am looking for job opportunities in industries. But having learnt that that the H-1B (cap-subject) quota for this fiscal year has been filled, I am sort of stuck. Is it possible for a R&D industry (not an non-profit organization) to sponsor H-1B (cap -exempt) by hiring me as a postdoctoral research associate in a company ? And latter on switch to H-1B (cap-subject) visa next year. Your reply will be very helpful. Thank you. Link to comment
JoeF
Industry R&D does not qualify for cap-exemption. Only universities, non-profit research institutions affiliated with universities, and government research institutions qualify. Link to comment
