H1B to L1A conversion. Eligibility !!!!!

I joined company A in india in July 2006 and they sent me US in H1B visa in Mar 2008. My first extension is completing this Feb 2013. Currently I have stayed 4 yrs and 4 mths in the US. Due to my company policy I cannot apply for H1B ext(1 more year), so I am planning to apply L1A. My question is below

1) Am I eligible for L1A conversion ? Any roadblocks you thing of ???

2) If my L1A gets denied, will my current H1B will also be revoked ?

For an L1, you have to have worked for the company abroad for a year in the last 3 years.

That's apparently not the case here, so you can not apply for an L1.

Hi Joe,

Are you absolutely sure on the 1 year clause? I believe L1A can be applied if the candidate is already in a managerial role from last 1 year.
