NeedMagic
Hi all, Missed H1B quota by a day (file sent to USCIS on June 12th). On OPT-ext now valid till June 2013 and working as a full time employee. F2 visa for my wife has been denied twice on basis of 214(b) in the past. Now what are my options to get her here ? Can i apply for B1 visa and get her on B2 ? Am i eligible for L1 visa? (working as full time now for a month for this employer but worked as a contractor for 15 months before joining as full time employee) Is there any other visa that is not covered under 214(b) to get her here ? Thanks in advance! Link to comment
shandan
You cannot work on a B1 visa, but your wife can come visit you on a B1/B2 visa as a visitor but that would again be a visitor not a dependent visa, so she cannot stay over a certain period usually 6 months as a visitor. L1 visa is for company transfer, so you need to be employed by the company in another country and they need to show a need to transfer you to a US location for a brief period of time on company business.
