What are the options if I have missed the H1-B quota this year?

I presently have a full time job in a not for profit (university) and was hoping to get into the quota this year to start working for a company. I have an offer from a company and don't know what to do.

Please advice me on how I could start working for a company without waiting till next october.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

You can continue to work in your university job.

That's the only option.
