H4 change of status with valid EAD

Hi,

It would of great help if any one could give their expert advise with my situation.

I have H1B valid till Oct 2013 and recently got my EAD/AP ( dependent). I am planing to quit my job.

So if i quit my job, Can i stay in valid satus with my EAD/AP or will i have to apply for change of status from H1 to H4.
