I 797 A (H1 Document) has my Employer Name Misspelled

Hello All,

I have I797 A (H1 Document) where my Employer name is incorrect. In two places my employer name is misspelled, where the employer name has letter 'S' at the end. ( lets say my employer name is A then it is printed as As)

1) one is on top right where we have the petitioner name.

2) one is the bottom left where we have the I 94 info.

I have booked a visa slot next month July 13th at Vancouver and I want to know If am going to have any problem If I go for the stamping with the same document.

If need to get it changed then what is the process? How may days is it going to take?

Please advice.

=> Your employer should fix it. Amendment takes 3-4 weeks.

I want to know whether I get it into troubles if I go for stamping without changing the employer name.

=> It shouldn't be a problem. Get a letter from your employer regarding that. Remember, show this letter to VO only if they ask about this error. Good luck.

Hi Kanna7282, how did the interview go, i am in a similar situation and was planning to get a letter from the employer describing the typo. Employer says even if a correction is submitted to USCIS it takes many months for them to 

address it, since its a low priority and does not affect travel.
