H1B 221g Green ->H4 -> H1B->221g Withdrawal

Hi,

I went for H1B stamping in India towards the end of last year and was issued 221g green slip.

Instead of responding/withdrawing my H1B visa application, I resigned from my job and I went ahead with H4 stamping after 2 weeks and was issued a valid H4 visa. I came back to US and was on H4 for 6 months.

I converted back to H1B with a new employer recently and would like to know if I need to withdraw my old visa application. (221g)

My Questions,

1. What happens if I let that 221g expire. Will that be counted as a visa rejection.

2. If yes for 1 above, Then Is it possible then to withdraw my old visa application without an appointment at the consulate in India.

An issual of a 221g slip counts as a visa rejection irrespective of whether you choose to withdraw, answer or forfeit it.
