Going to India on Vacation, do I need H1 Stamping?

Hi,

I am on H1B visa. I left company A in September 2011 and joined company B.

My H1 transfer was done and now company B holds my H1. The new I-797 is valid till 2013 October.

On my passport I have stamped H1 which is valid till 2012 September, but it is having company A name as H1 sponsor.

I am planning a vacation in July 2012. Do I need to go for a H1 Stamping?

Looks like you a valid visa which is good but please consult your attorney as your visa carries information about the old employer, you may be asked about this at port of entry.

Hey there!

You don;t need the stamping. Just keep all ur papers handy. for example 1797, ur petition, letter from employer ect. I made the same mistake and went to consulate for stamping when I did not need to. They put my case under administrative processing which took around 2 months. So don;t repeat that mistake. ask you company's lawyer who filed ur case to provide u all the necessary documents.
