H1b Extension Stamping in Chennai

Hello Members

I am a silent reader of this forum for many years.Thanks for all your inputs.

Finally Today I attended my 1st extension stamping in Chennai.I am in EC model. VO asked the normal questions salary,work Location,duties,role. Finally said everything is fine but need to update some things and it will take 2 days .Meanwhile she retained all of our three(wife and son H4) Passports.

My questions are

1.Whether my visa is approved.

2,What is the update she is referring.

Did the VO retain any other doc apart from the passports?

Did the VO ask you for any documents during the course of the interview?

What was your answer to what's your work location?

Do you have any other valid US visa stamped on your passport.. B1/F1..etc.

The answers to the above can help understand your case better.

Nevertheless, my GUESS.. you should be okay :)

Did you get a case number at the consulate? If so, your visa may need additional processing and you can check your status on the chennai consulate website with the case no that they provided to you. If they didnt provide you any case no then they must have approved your visa and will send the passport to you soon.

I did not receive any case no.

I am still waiting for my passport. I am not sure if it is PIMS verification or any other updates.
