H1B 7th year extension filed 10 days before 6 years end

My 7th year H1B extension will be applied only 10 days before my 6 years regular H1B gets over.

The reason for this is that only then 365 days would have elapsed since the filing of PERM.

I have 2 questions

i) Can I stay in the country when the 7th year extension application is pending.

ii) Is there a way to file the 7th year extension earlier since my 6th year H1B expires only 10 days after the 365 days since my perm was filed.

Any help in this regard is much appreciated.
