I have asked my company to start GC two months back and they agreed to file PERM and they contacted company attorney to do so. But last month there are lay offs in the company in different departments. Only one guy(American citizen) is laid off in technical side. He works in different technology though. Will this effect anyway in starting my GC? I am bit worried now that whenever I ask HR just says its in process. Is something do I have to worry? I have 1year 9months remaining in my 6 year H1B.
