I have h1b visa stamped until sep 21 2012, Got my h1b visa extension approved.

I want to go to canda for stamping(for extended visa) , how soon can I go for stamping?

(read somewhere that should not go before 90 days of start date on i-797)

I called consul guys in India and Canada and they said, I can apply for stamping no problem, but I am not so sure that they really meant what they said? Please let me know about this ASAP.
